About the artwork

LOCK ME UP is for the canal people: the ones who will happily lose forty minutes to a flight of locks, who own their own windlass, who say "four miles an hour is plenty" and absolutely mean it. It reads like a confession and it is one. Somewhere in Britain, right now, someone is beaming at a slowly filling chamber of water. This is their shirt.
